Professor Carter Snead Joins Tracey & Fox As Of Counsel

HOUSTON (November 22, 2017) - The law firm of Tracey & Fox announced that Professor O. Carter Snead has joined the practice as Of Counsel.

Currently a Professor of Law at the University of Notre Dame, Snead is one of the world's leading experts on public bioethics - the governance of science, medicine and technology in the name of ethical goods.

"I am thrilled and honored to have Professor Snead join our firm," said founding partner Sean Tracey. "His particular expertise on the cross section of bioethics and science is particularly relevant to our practice, which is heavily weighted to cases involving complex scientific issues."

"It will be a great honor for me to contribute to the finest personal injury law firm in the country as they work to provide a measure of justice for people in need," Snead said. "Tracey & Fox lawyers embody the very highest standards of integrity, excellence, and a passion for serving the weak and vulnerable."

Snead graduated magna cum laude from the law school at Georgetown University and, after clerking for Hon. Paul J. Kelly, Jr. of the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Tenth Circuit, practiced for a few years before joining the White House as General Counsel to the President's Council on Bioethics (2002-05). In 2005, he joined the faculty of Notre Dame Law School, launching his career as a legal scholar. He has testified before the U.S. Congress, state legislatures, and as an expert witness in courts on a wide variety of matters relating to medicine, science, and biotechnology. He has advised officials in all three branches of the federal government on matters of public bioethics.

In addition, Professor Snead has published over forty journal articles, book chapters, and essays on abortion, embryo research, neuroethics, assisted reproduction, end of life decision-making, assisted suicide and euthanasia.
